What Are Adidas’ Subsidiary Companies?

The Adidas Group is the parent company of athletic apparel and equipment brands such as Reebok, Rockport and TaylorMade, which is also known as TaylorMade-adidas Golf. These brands are still marketed under their original brand names even though they are part of the Adidas Group brand profile, which includes a total of almost 200 subsidiaries, including the Adidas (stylized as ‘adidas’) brand itself. Reebok, Rockport and TaylorMade were all American companies before they were purchased and absorbed by the Adidas group, which is a German company with headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

In addition to owning different brands, the Adidas Group’s flagship brand, Adidas, has some subsidiaries within its own brand umbrella, including groups such as Adidas Golf (which now includes brands such as TaylorMade) and Adidas Originals, the brand’s lifestyle sportswear brand that is focused on making street clothes rather than clothing, shoes and accessories designed for athletic performance. Adidas’ brand strategy also includes celebrity and athlete endorsement. The company’s early deal with barrier-breaking Olympic athlete Jesse Owens was the first sports endorsement for black professional athletes. Adidas is also regularly commissioned to provide official team uniforms, shoes and other equipment for professional sports teams, particularly on the international soccer scene.
