How Do I Turn Off the Mouse Clicking Sound?

You can disable the mouse clicking sound through your operating system menu. It does take a few additional clicks of the mouse with the annoying sound still clicking away. But thankfully, the sound can be silenced so that you no longer hear it. That click is rated as one of the worst features of Microsoft Windows programs. Here are the steps to stop it:

First, go to your Start menu. Once you click on the Start button, navigate to the Control Panel option. When you see an option for Hardware and Sound, click on it. Within the Hardware and Sound dialog, there is an option to Change systems settings and sounds. You choose Change system sounds. From the Change Sounds dialog, scroll down to Start Navigation, and click on it. This action gives you a Sounds drop down menu. You select None, and click Okay. This process fixes the annoying problem of hearing that clicking sound as you use your mouse.

Another option is to turn down your volume, so you do not hear the sound. This alleviates distracting sounds while you work in Windows and eliminates the unpopular mouse clicking feature. If you want the clicking sound back, it is easy to enable.
