How Many Players Can Dress Out During a College Football Game?

There is no limit on the number of players that a team can dress for a home football game according to NCAA rules. For away contests, the number of players that may travel varies according to the policies set by the conference that the school belongs to.

For example, Big Ten member schools are allowed to dress a maximum of 70 players for conference or non-conference road games, but this limit is lifted for Bowl games. Also, NCAA rules state that no more than 105 players may take part in preseason camp prior to the start of the school’s fall term or the school’s first game.
