The number of beers in a pitcher depends on both the size of the pitcher and the size of the glass of beer being poured. Standard beer pitchers range from 48 to 60 fluid ounces, with some pitchers being as small as 32 fluid ounces.
Since a standard pint glass holds 16 fluid ounces of beer, a standard beer pitcher would yield between three to four pint glasses of beer. If a glass is simply 12 fluid ounces, a standard beer pitcher could yield as many as five glasses of beer. It is recommended that one knows both the fluid ounces of the pitcher as well as the glass size in ounces when determining how many beers are in a pitcher.
