Adult lions can grow to be 6 to 8 feet tall. Male lions are slightly larger than the females who typically grow to heights of 5 to 6 feet.
Lions are very large animals and they can reach weights of up to 500 pounds. They have an average lifespan of 13 years and the majority of lions species are native to Africa. Unlike most felines, lions live in groups, also known as "prides." Due to their massive size and strength, lions prey upon a large array of animals including feral hogs, zebra and giraffes. On occasion, they will also kill animals as large as a rhino.
