The Drummond Ranch comprises roughly 433,000 acres in Oklahoma and southern Kansas, according to data provided by Modern Farmer. The Drummond family ranked 17th in Modern Farmer's 2013 list of America?s top 100 land owners.
The ranch has been in operation since its founding by Frederick Drummond in 1886, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society. After Frederick's passing, his sons -- Roy Cecil, Frederick Gentner and Alfred Alexander -- continued operations of the land, which included at least 200,000 acres by the 1980s. Responsibility eventually fell to grandson Frederick Ford Drummond, who passed duties to son Ford, who currently handles operations, states the Oklahoma Historical Society.
