A reindeer chihuahua is also known as a deer-head chihuahua, and has been named for its uncanny resemblance to that of a deer, as it has an elongated head and neck, a narrower snout and longer legs in comparison to other breeds. Although elegant, reindeer chihuahuas are not show dogs because they are unable to meet the breed’s standards, which is to weigh less than 6 pounds.
In comparison to other chihuahua breeds, reindeer chihuahuas tend to be healthier overall and possess fewer genetic problems. Chihuahuas are a highly-intelligent breed and have been known to be extremely swift and alert, making them wonderful companions.
