Do Octopuses Have Teeth?

Octopuses have many rows of small teeth called denticles, which are located on the ribbon-like structure known as the radula. The radula is located within the octopus’s mouth and is used for drilling shells and cutting flesh. Octopuses have a pair of beaks that also assist in ingesting prey.
Octopuses are eight-armed cephalopods within the phylum Mollusca. Most species are bottom-dwelling animals and use their arms to crawl along the ocean’s floor. When threatened, an octopus is capable of spewing a jet of water through its siphon to quickly escape danger. An inky substance also is ejected from the octopus to blind and disorient predators.
