What Is a Mouse’s Favorite Food?

A mouse’s favorite food is grass seed. They naturally love to eat seeds, but house mice also love sweets like gum drops or marshmallows, and fatty foods such as soft cheese and peanut butter.

The same foods that mice love to eat can also be used to bait and trap them. The scientific name for a house mouse is Mus musculus, or little thief. Generally, they have good vision, hearing, touch and smell, but can carry various diseases, like salmonella. It is best for people who have an asthma condition to avoid contact with a house mouse’s hair or urine as these can worsen their condition.
