How Long Does It Take for Snake Eggs to Hatch?

Snakes come in a variety of types, and the time that it takes each type of snake’s eggs to hatch varies. The king cobra of the Southeast Asian rain forest lays between 18 and 50 eggs which all take between 70 and 77 days to hatch.

The corn snake, a snake that is often kept as a pet, lays eggs that take between 58 and 62 days to hatch, but these baby snakes tend to remain in their shells for a few days after initially hatching. California king snake eggs that are kept in captivity at a constant temperature of approximately 82 degrees Fahrenheit should be expected to hatch in about 60 days.
