Koalas do not have tails. Even though it has no tail, the koala has a great sense of balance and strong limbs that allow it to climb efficiently.
The paws of the koala are adapted, to help it live life in the trees. It uses its soles and palms to grip onto the trunks and branches of trees. Koalas living in the southern section of Australia tend to be brown while those living in the north are often gray. The koala has a relatively small brain, but it's sense of smell is overly developed to allow it to detect toxic levels in eucalyptus leaves, which are its main diet.
