What Kinds of Animals Eat Kangaroos?

The main predator of the kangaroo is the dingo. Dingos are wild dogs which are, like the kangaroo, endemic to Australia. Humans also kill and sometimes eat kangaroos as well.
Most of the animals that were once predators of the kangaroo are now extinct. These include the thylacine and the marsupial lion, both carnivorous marsupials, as well as the wonambi, a type of very large snake. Tasmanian devils are also predators of the kangaroo, but there are so few of them in existence they do not pose a threat. Eagles and foxes often prey on joeys, the kangaroo's young, but they do not attack adult kangaroos.
