What Is a Group of Ladybugs Called?

A group of ladybugs is called a "loveliness of ladybugs." Gardeners enjoy seeing a loveliness of ladybugs in their gardens because one ladybug can eat up to 5,000 aphids, common garden pests, in a year.
There are more than 5,000 species of ladybugs, and more than 450 species are found in North America. When cold weather comes, groups of ladybugs can be found seeking shelter indoors, under the bark of trees and any other cracks they might find. Thousands of ladybugs might collect in the same area, year after year, as they seek the collective warmth of each other to hibernate through the winter.
