Is a Frog an Herbivore?

Most frogs are not herbivores. The majority of the frogs in the world are carnivorous. There are, however, a few species of frogs that are exceptions to the rule.

According to Vegan Peace, most frogs do not eat a solely plant-based diet. They eat insects, worms, spiders and centipedes. Larger frogs also eat mice and small snakes. Not all frogs are carnivorous, however; for example, the Izecksohn’s Brazilian Treefrog is a type of frog believed to be an herbivore, eating colored fruits and then later excreting the seeds. Frogs also absorb water via their skin by osmosis, rather than taking in water by drinking.
