A leopard can reach a top speed of 30 miles per hour. The fastest animal on Earth is said to be a cheetah, which can reach a top speed of 70 miles per hour.
Leopards do not waste energy. Instead of chasing, the cats stalk and ambush prey. A leopard's prey consists primarily of deer, rodents and warthogs. Predators of the leopard include lions, tigers and humans.
Leopards can be found in Africa and Asia and are hunted by humans for the fur and meat. Leopards live for 10 to 15 years and reach sexual maturity in 20 to 24 months.
