Giraffes can jump. Even though giraffes technically have the ability to jump, it is not generally in their nature to jump. The highest recorded fence jumped by a giraffe was 1 meter high.
Giraffes have a unique build that provides them with the ability to extend their necks without having to jump. A male giraffe's maximum head height is recorded to be 5.5 meters, and a female's is recorded at 4.5 meters. Giraffes are known to gallop up to 34 mph throughout their habitats. These animals move about their habitats primarily during the morning and evening hours, as these parts of the day tend to be cooler.
