Can Dogs Eat Steak Bones?

Raw beef bones can be safe for a dog to eat as long as the bone is a suitable size relative to the dog. Cooked bones should never be given to dogs.

The bone should be large enough that the dog cannot swallow it whole or bite it into chunks that are small enough to swallow. Rib bones should be avoided as they splinter more easily. Dogs that have had pancreatitis or that have had dental work should not be given meat bones. Raw beef bones generally do not supply dogs with much nutrition, but chewing on them keeps them occupied and also cleans their teeth.
