Lady is a cocker spaniel who was introduced, along with a mixed-breed dog named Tramp, in the 1953 Ward Greene novel "Lady and the Tramp: the Story of Two Dogs." The duo are featured in the 1955 Disney film, "Lady and the Tramp."
Other breeds of dogs that appear in the film include a bloodhound named Trusty, a Scottish terrier named Jock and a Pekingese named Peg. "Lady and the Tramp" was the first animated Disney movie to be filmed in CinemaScope and the first to be based on an original story instead of a well-known fairytale.
Lady and Tramp are also featured in the 2001 DVD release "Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure."
