How Do You Troubleshoot a Carrier Thermostat?
Carrier thermostats can be troubleshooted by looking for common problems and addressing these problems one at a time until the problem is fixed. Some common problems may include a system that is not heating or cooling enough or a system that is not running at all.
If a Carrier thermostat is not cooling, owners should make sure that the thermostat is set to cooling mode and to a temperature that is lower than the temperature outside. If the temperature is set correctly, owners should check to see if the outside unit is running. If it’s not, owners need to check their circuit breaker and make sure that all circuits are in the on position.
Oftentimes, owners should be able to notice signs that their Carrier thermostats need to be serviced. For example, if a system seems to be turning itself on and off frequently or is struggling to keep the home at the designated temperature, these are signs that the system may need servicing. Sometimes when a Carrier thermostat needs attention, humidity levels indoors during the summer become unusually high. Another sign is if the indoor-unit turns on but there is no warm or cool air coming out of the vents. Some Carrier thermostat systems also come with a “Constant ON” feature. If this is the case, the system may need servicing if it doesn’t blow warm air.
