What Are the Steps to Light a Dyna Glo Propane Heater?

To light a Dyna Glo propane heater, assemble the heater, connect it to a propane supply system, open the propane supply valve, and light the burner or pilot light. To stop the heater, close the valve on the propane supply, and turn off the control knob or main burner valve.

To assemble a Dyna Glo propane heater, attach the upper and lower shells with Phillips head screws, and use an adjustable wrench to connect the regulator hose assembly to a propane tank. Slowly open the propane supply valve, or the excess flow check valve may cut off the gas flow. Before turning on the heater, check all hose and regulator connections for leaks by applying a liquid soap solution to the joints.

To light a model that has a control knob, turn the knob to the Off position, push in the knob, turn it counterclockwise to the Low position, and hold it there for 10 to 15 seconds before releasing. If the burner does not light, return the knob to the Off position and repeat the procedure. To light a model that has an ignition button, push the red button on the safety pilot valve to allow gas to reach the pilot, and press the ignition button repeatedly until the pilot lights up. Once the pilot is lit, hold the button down for 30 seconds. Use the main burner valve to regulate heat.
