To reset a Samsung washer after receiving an error code, turn the Power switch OFF and then back ON. The user may disconnect the power to the unit for a couple seconds, and then restore the power and press the Power button to reset.
Errors such as water supply, water drain, unbalance and overflow can be reset using the same method. Samsung washer fault codes appear as a digital code, and the user needs to identify what the error code means to be able to repair the washer.
Some common Samsung error codes include 5E, 4E, 3E, dE, UE, oE among others. Each of these error codes identifies different problems. For example, 5E error code is a water drain error, meaning that the washing machine has failed to drain the water. This error can be reset by pressing the Start/Pause button or by turning the Power switch OFF and back ON. Once the washing machine restarts, it attempts to drain out the water again.
4E is a water supply error, meaning that washing machine has failed to fill with water in a sensible time. Like the 5E error, to reset it, press the Start/Pause button or turn the Power switch OFF and back ON. Once the washing machine restarts, it will attempt to fill the water again.
Other errors that can be reset by turning the Power OFF and then ON include water heater, water pressure, abnormal water temperature, motor restriction and over current errors.
