How Wide Is a Queen Bed?

The standard queen-size bed mattress is 60 inches wide. It is a mid-size bed suitable for two people. However, it does not give as much individual space to each person as a twin bed does to one person.

The standard queen-size bed is 21 inches wider than a twin and 6 inches wider than a full. A king-size bed is 16 inches wider than a queen, but a California king is only 12 inches wider.

A queen-size bed mattress is 80 inches long, the same length as an extra-long twin bed or a king bed. It is 5 inches longer than the standard twin or full-size bed and 4 inches shorter than the California king bed.
