Nigeria does not have a single king, as it has a federal system of government. All kings were stripped of their power in 1963. As of 2014, the president of Nigeria is Goodluck Jonathan, whom has held office since 2011.
Nigeria has several local kings, although there is no single kind at the top of the government. Many local Nigerian kings have amassed great wealth, especially if they come from resource-rich areas. Some have not become wealthy. For example, Oba Larooye II of Osun state is a schoolteacher by profession. From the same state, Alayeluwa Sijuwade has become very wealthy by importing vehicles.
