Nestl�� USA, Inc. owns the Willy Wonka Candy Factory, and produces such candies as Wonka Chocolate, Nerds, Nerd Rope, Sweetarts, Shockers and Sprees. Other popular Wonka candies include Laffy Taffy, Runts, Everlasting Gobstoppers, Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip, Pixy Stix and Bottle Caps.
In addition to the candy bars and Wonka candies, Nestl�� is also known for several beverages, including its Nescaf�� coffee, Nesquik chocolate milk, Nestea iced tea, Pure Life bottled water, Carnation condensed milk and Boost nutrition shakes.
Henri Nestl��'s infant cereal company opened in 1867 and merged in 1905 with the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company, when the Nestl�� that exists today was born. Nestl�� started out manufacturing milk products, but in 1925, after several acquisitions and mergers, chocolate became an integral part of the Nestl�� business. During World War II, Nescaf�� became a staple drink among American servicemen in Europe and Asia.
By 1974, Nestl�� had expanded beyond the food industry, acquiring L'Or��al Cosmetics. Throughout the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, Nestl�� continued to acquire more companies. It now owns many diversified businesses, including Buitoni pastas, Gerber baby food and Friskies cat food.Learn more about Candy
