Last Updated Mar 25, 2020 6:17:58 AM ET
The correct format for a P.O. box address is: First Name Last Name P.O. Box 123 City, State Zip Code It is important to use the correct format or the carrier will not deliver your mail.
If the mail recipient lives at one address but receives mail at the P.O box, then the correct format is:
First Name Last Name
Physical Address
P.O. Box 123
City, State Zip Code
By putting both addresses on the piece of mail, you are letting the carrier know that the person residing at that address is accepting mail at the P.O. box. However, P.O. boxes are occasionally used for privacy purposes, so a physical address may not be available.
