According to RecycleINme, the scrap price of lead was about 49 cents per pound between February and March of 2014. This is roughly half the spot price of lead, which, according to Kitco metals, was about 92 cents during the same period.

Scrap metal prices frequently change according to the market, in both the United States and in markets around the world. Prices may also depend on the future market for that particular metal. The price paid by a dealer is often less than the market price, particularly if the metal is mixed with other metals or has other impurities. Car batteries, lead shot, lead covered copper and wheel weights are examples of places to find scrap lead.
