British Petroleum, or BP, makes quarterly dividend payments in March, June, September and December of each year, according to the BP website. The actual dividend payment dates vary from year to year, but generally fall in the second half of the designated month.

For example, quarterly dividend payment dates for 2015 are March 27, June 19, Sept. 18 and Dec. 18, states the BP website. Dividends are payable on the payment dates to investors who held BP stock on its record date, which usually falls about a month prior to the payment date. For example, to receive BP’s dividend payment on March 27, an investor would have to own BP stock on the record date of Feb. 13, 2015, according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The amount of the quarterly dividend varies according to the company’s performance in each quarter.

BP dividend amounts are announced in February, May, August and November of each year, according to the BP website. The company publishes a schedule for dividend payments for the current year on a financial calendar on its website. Information about BP’s dividend history is available on a number of additional websites, including the NASDAQ exchange, where BP is listed, through the SEC and through various online investment websites.
