Postal Exam 473 is required for most entry-level Postal Service positions. USPS mails out a scheduling package one week before the date of the exam, which includes application instructions, testing location and date, and sample questions. Postal Exam 473 has six sections and covers address reading, coding, forms, memory and personal characteristics. Applicants must be 18 or older or 16 with a high school diploma.
