Is It Free to Open a Checking Account With Regions Bank?
As of 2015, it is not free to open a checking account with Regions Bank. The bank offers six types of checking accounts and all require a $50 minimum deposit to open.
Regions Bank’s checking accounts include the LifeGreen checking account, the LifeGreen eAccess account and the LifeGreen simple checking account. The bank also offers the LifeGreen preferred checking account, the 62+ LifeGreen checking account and the LifeGreen checking for students.
There are no monthly fees on the LifeGreen checking, the LifeGreen eAccess and the LifeGreen preferred checking accounts. The LifeGreen simple checking account has a $5 monthly fee with online statements. Accounts with paper statements pay a $7 monthly fee.
The 62+ LifeGreen checking account has a $8 monthly fee with online statements and a $10 monthly fee with paper statements. Account holders can avoid the monthly fee by maintaining a balance of $1,500.
There is no monthly fee for the LifeGreen checking for students account, provided the account holder enrolls in the bank’s online statements service. There is a $2 monthly fee for accounts with paper statements.
All of the Regions Bank’s checking accounts offer the Regions Visa CheckCard. The bank also offers access to online banking with bill pay and mobile banking.
