For 2014, Kentucky Fried Chicken had a gross income of $4.37 billion, net income of $319 million and a total revenue of $19.33 billion, states Market Watch. The gross income is also referred to as gross profit or gross margin. KFC is a division of Yum! Brands, which is also the parent company for Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
Over 70 years ago, Colonel Harland Sanders founded KFC in Kentucky. KFC is a chain of restaurants that serves mainly biscuits, side dishes and fried chicken. Harland Sanders established a restaurant in 1930, and the first franchised restaurant was opened in 1952. As of 2015, there are more than 17,000 restaurants found all over the world, states Business Insider. Nearly 3,700 restaurants are situated in China.
