The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the average hourly wage of veterinarians is $46.22 as of 2013, which would result in roughly $370 a day for an eight-hour work period. Veterinarians earn an average annual salary of $96,140, with the top 10 percent making nearly $150,000 a year.
Approximately 59,230 veterinarians are employed in the United States as of 2013. The highest earners make about $71.89 an hour, or $575.12 a day, while the lowest 10 percent of earners make $25.61 per hour, or $204.88 a day. Veterinarians in Texas, California and the Northeast states are among the top earners, while veterinarians in the Southeast and Midwest tend to make less.
