According to Merriam-Webster, a sustainable resource is one which is used or harvested in such a way that it is not depleted or permanently damaged. Agriculture is an example of a sustainable resource. Proper management of agriculture allows it to provide food and other resources to the population indefinitely.

Many industries are moving toward more sustainable practices, with prime example being the building industry. By reducing waste, recycling, practicing energy conservation and using sustainable building materials, they lead the way to a sustainable future. Examples of sustainable building materials include hemp, bamboo, flyash concrete, recycled paper insulation and recycled-content roofing materials.
