In 2014, Nike had a total of 858 retail stores worldwide. This figure is for the number of stores that Nike itself runs and operates as opposed to the footwear and sportswear stores that it has retail accounts with and that sell its merchandise.
The United States has 176 Nike factory stores and 33 Nike "in-line" stores, such as NIkeTown. Nike owns Hurley, the skateboarding and surfing apparel maker, and it also owns Converse, the footwear maker. There are 84 Converse stores and 29 Hurley stores in total. Outside the United States, there are 459 Nike factory stores, 71 Nike inline stores, and six Converse stores.
