How Many Jobs Are There in the World?

The population of the world is 7.2 billion, and about 70 percent of people in the world are working. This gives a staggering figure of about 5 billion jobs in the world. This number is expected to rise as younger people enter the labor market.

There are 3.8 million jobs available in America alone. The unemployment rate is declining steadily, but the number of people dropping out of the labor force is also rising.

Countries like China, Brazil and India have the highest number of people participating in the work force. In the USA, this figure is about 63 percent. Private sector jobs are on the rise, with the computer industry leading the way. Government jobs are sought after in some developing countries.
