How Many Employees Does Subway Have?

As of 2014, Subway had approximately 328,000 to 492,000 employees worldwide according to Entrepreneur Magazine, Among those employees, about 212,208 to 318,312 of these were Americans, 24,424 to 36,636 were from Canada and 94,736 to 142,104 were international employees.

The number of American employees remained approximately unchanged from 2013 to 2014, while the number of Canadian and international employees increased by approximately 11,000. Keeping these figures in mind, it takes around eight to 12 employees to run one single Subway franchise. Subway has franchise operations in the United States and in 98 different countries across the globe in both traditional locations, such as stand-alone stores, and nontraditional sites, which include gas stations.
