Cabela’s has 74 stores in the United States. They have a further 8 locations in Canada for a total of 82 stores.

Cabela’s stores offer a unique shopping experience; they are as much wildlife museums and education centers as they are retail stores.

The first Cabela’s store opened in 1964 in the basement of the founder’s father’s furniture store. However, Dick Cabela, the original founder, started the company as a mail-order business in 1961, and catalog and online sales generate a substantial portion of the company’s sales, shipping products to 125 countries outside the United States.
