Which Hospitals Accept UnitedHealthcare?

A range of hospitals around the country accept United HealthCare insurance, as of 2016; for example, 248 in-network facilities accepted United HealthCare’s Charter HMO within a 100-mile radius of New York, New York, according to the search tool on UHC.com. The tool is accessible by clicking the Find a Doctor tab and then clicking the Find a Physician, Hospital or Health Care Facility link under the General Directory heading.

After launching the search tool using the link, choose the type of plan to search for doctors, clinics and facilities, notes UHC.com. Click the All United HealthCare Plans option to search for hospitals and other providers from the UHC family of health plans, or click the State Exchanges options to find health insurance marketplace providers.

When clicking the All United HealthCare Plans link, select the plan name found on the bottom-right of your member identification card. Some options include Charter HMO, Charter Plus, Choice, Navigate Plus and Passport Connect Choice Plus. Select the Places icon, click the Hospitals icon, enter your ZIP code and set the proximity for the search. Select a specialty if desired from the drop-down menu below the proximity box. View the results for hospitals covered by the plan, including the hospital’s name, address, phone number and website URL.

To find hospitals that accept United HealthCare under the state exchange marketplace, click the State Exchanges option, choose whether the plan is an individual/family plan or a small-business plan, choose a state, select a network and click on the Medical Directory link, according to UHS.com. Enter a ZIP code or city/state combination, click Continue, click Places, click Hospitals and view the results.
