What Forms of Online Payment Does Nordstrom Accept?

For U.S. customers, payment options for Nordstrom’s online store include most major credit cards, along with dedicated Nordstrom retail, credit, debit and gift cards. Nordstrom also accepts payment through PayPal, allowing customers to pay with their PayPal balance or directly from their bank account or credit card.

Specific credit cards accepted by Nordstrom include Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express and Discover Network. The company does not accept payments online using cash, collect on delivery charges, checks, money orders or gift certificates, though gift cards can be used to place orders over the phone. Customers can, however, make use of Nordstrom Notes online, which are earned through the Nordstrom Rewards program when using Nordstrom debit and credit cards.

Customers placing their order through PayPal are able to pay with Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, though the company automatically applies any funds held in a user’s account first. Transfers from U.S. banks can also be used through PayPal, with withdrawals taking three to five days to process and requiring a back-up funding source, such as a credit card.

Payment for international customers is limited to the Nordstrom-branded Visa card, as well as all other Visas and MasterCards. International customers are not able to pay using Nordstrom retail, debit or gift cards or with Nordstrom Notes. These orders are not charged directly from Nordstrom but rather from its logistics partner Borderfree, which is responsible for shipping international products.
