Working in a dream job or an area of passion is a common career aspiration. A new graduate may aspire to become an elementary school teacher in a small town, while others pursue financial goals. Landing a job that provides a good balance between work and family is another example.

Making a difference in the lives of children or contributing to community development are emotional career aspirations. Gaining stability or security in an organization is an aspiration for many. Some people want a job where they make important decisions or have significant responsibilities. Ambitious workers aspire to develop professional skills or gain new areas of expertise. Many people focus on financial security or careers with retirement plans and stock options.
