Does the Euro Sign Go Before or After the Number?

Whenever possible, the Euro sign is placed before the number, without a space placed between the sign and the number. Every three digits to the left of the decimal point in the number, however, has a space before proceeding with the next three digits.

The Euro is also presented by a three letter ISO when written. The three letters denoting the Euro are EUR. The letters are placed before the numbers, with an intervening space when writing using English, Irish, Latvian and Maltese. In all other European Union texts, the three letter ISO is presented after the numbers, also with a space between them.
