Why Is Engineering Called the “stealth Profession”?
Engineering is considered to be an invisible or stealth profession due to the fact that often times most people do not think of engineers when they associate people with the heavy oil industries, office buildings or highway constructions. Various types of professional engineers are an integral part in construction.
An overwhelming majority of the U.S. population is often uninformed about the field of engineering and reveal a surprising lack of information about an engineer’s involvement in the key areas of engineering and American endeavors, notes a Harris Poll survey. Many important, modern-day constructions and technological breakthroughs result from professional engineers’ efforts.
