What Is the Dress Code for Walmart Associates?

Walmart added black and khaki-colored denim pants to the dress code for front-line associates. Workers whose jobs are physically demanding may wear blue jeans and tee-shirts. Walmart also plans to allow workers to wear other items, such as sport jerseys, on designated associate engagement days.
Prior to the dress code updates, the Walmart associate wardrobe list included only black or khaki pants, blue or white collared shirts and Walmart vests. Walmart executives cite the relaxed dress code as a way to create a more inviting atmosphere for associates. The decision represents Walmart’s hopeful approach to enticing younger employees to stay with the company instead of going to other employers.
