How Do You Find Doctors That Accept the Humana Gold Plus Insurance Plan?
To search for doctors who accept the Humana Gold Plus Medicare Advantage insurance plan, use the search engine on the Humana.com website, reports Humana. Plan members can search using their member IDs, while others can search by selecting a variety of search criteria.
To locate and use the physician finder, go to the Humana.com home page, and click on Search under Find a Doctor. If you are already a Humana Gold Plus plan member, click on member ID, and enter the identification number on your Humana ID card. If you are not yet a member, click on Just Looking, select Medicare or Medicare-Medicaid as coverage type, and enter your ZIP code. For network, select Gold Plus HMO, and then choose whether you want to search for physicians by name, specialty or condition. If you need help entering a specific specialty for which to search, click on Specialty under the form to choose from a list of available specialty categories.
According to the terms of the Humana Gold Plus HMO plan, members must choose a primary care physician from within the plan’s network, as explained by Humana. If members are not satisfied with the level of care, they can select another doctor from within the network as often as they want. The primary care physician authorizes visits to other specialists or hospitals when the patient requires special care.
