Walmart sells money orders through the Money Center located in individual stores. Cash must be used to purchase money orders from the Walmart Money Center.
Find Walmart stores with MoneyCenter facilities by going to the Walmart.com website. Look under the Financial Services link at the bottom of the page for the Walmart MoneyCenter link. Money orders are used to pay bills, purchase products and services or to send another person money. They are readily accepted because they are prepaid, guaranteeing the recipient the funds will be available and not “bounce” like a check from an account with insufficient funds.
Walmart provides a variety of financial-related services through its Money Centers. In addition to money orders, the store offers re-loadable debit cards in conjunction with American Express. The Walmart and American Express debit card is called Bluebird. Walmart Money Centers also offer check-cashing services. Customers can pay bills at Walmart and transfer money to different locations around the United States and to different nations as well. Some Walmart Money Centers provide access to tax preparation services.
