Last Updated Apr 10, 2020 10:06:37 PM ET

According to Forbes, the average revenue of a Subway franchise in 2013 was $481,000, as cited by an industry study. A Subway franchise makes less than other fast food restaurants, such as McDonald's at $2.6 million and Chick-Fil-A at $3.1 million.
As the National Restaurant Association reports, the typical restaurant made $750,000 in 2013, meaning that Subway restaurants are below average in revenue. However, Subway has 25,000 franchises, nearly twice the number of McDonald's, although Subway restaurants tend to be smaller. The Forbes article goes on to say that franchise owners of any company must take marketing, site selection and food quality into consideration.
