What Is an Amazon Discount Code?

An Amazon discount code, also known as a promotional code, is a digital code provided by the online retailer Amazon and is generally entered during the online checkout process when making a purchase at Amazon.com. Promotional codes generally cause a discount to be applied to the purchase price.

Amazon promotional codes can be obtained from a third-party source or directly from Amazon Customer Service via emails to registered customers. When registered customers receive emails with promotional codes, customers do not need to enter the promotional code at the time of purchase, because the discount has already been applied to the individual customer’s account. Promotional code discounts cannot be applied toward gift cards, sales tax, gift wrap or shipping costs.
