How Do You Activate Your OTC Medicare Card?

To activate your OTC Medicare card, contact card services at no cost any time of the day or night, seven days a week using the toll-free number, says Healthfirst.org. Alternatively, you can visit Otcnetwork.com to activate your card.

Before your OTC Medicare card is activated, you are required to provide the date of your birth, your Healthfirst Medicare Plan member ID and the OTC card number that is usually printed on the front of your card, states the Healthfirst website.

Once the card has been activated, search for a participating retailer or pharmacy. After identifying one, go ahead and pick the eligible items that you wish to buy. You do not have to visit the pharmacy window and no prescription is needed to buy what you want, explains Healthfirst. Use the card at any Family Dollar location, Rite Aid, CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreen and numerous other pharmacies in your neighbourhood. To get a list of all the participating retailers and pharmacies, visit the Otcnetwork website. You can also call the Member Service representatives from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week without any charges.

To complete your transaction, pay at the front of the store. Take all the eligible products you wish to buy to the front checkout lanes and when you check out, swipe your card at your preferred registry. Purchases for the eligible items are deducted automatically from your card balance, according to Healthfirst.
