Who Wrote the Book of Proverbs?

In the Christian Holy Bible, it is not known who wrote the Book of Proverbs, though it is thought that Solomon, whom the Bible attributes as the author of some of the proverbs in the Book of Proverbs, might have written a few of the proverbs. The rest of the proverbs would have most likely been spoken by Solomon and passed around by word of mouth until they were written down by the unknown scribe.

In 1 Kings 4:32, it is said that Solomon said more than three thousand proverbs during his lifetime so it is known that not all of his proverbs made it into the Bible as there are 375 proverbs in the Book of Proverbs. The author of the book has been debated throughout much of history.
