What Is the Wolfsburg Edition?

The Wolfsburg edition is a special version of the Volkswagen Golf car. It is named for the German town where production of the Golf model began in 1974. This vehicle was unveiled at the Worthersee car festival in Austria in May 2014.

The special edition of the Golf was designed by a team of apprentices who chose a red exterior with a black interior for the hand-painted car. It also features a modified engine and an exhaust system designed to control engine noise. An illustration of the Wolfsburg skyline appears inside the car to note the 40th anniversary.

The Volkswagen Golf is a small car that has been marketed with other names, including the Volkswagen Rabbit. The original Golf replaced the Volkswagen Beetle. It is usually a best-seller for Volkswagen and is the second best-selling car model in the world as of 2012. Most Golfs have three doors, including a hatchback. A five-door version and a convertible are also available.

The Golf was named World Car of the Year in 2009. It is one of only two vehicles voted European Car of the Year twice, in both 1992 and 2013. It has been sold in seven different generations. The latest generation debuted in 2012 at the Paris Motor Show.
