Jeremiah founded his ministry in 1982. Since then, Turning Point has turned into a multimedia Christian outlet with radio programs, television shows, magazines and devotionals. The minister travels to different cities around the United States to spread his word with "An Evening with David Jeremiah," and the ministry reaches Spanish-speaking Christians with the radio program "Momento Decisivo." The group's website claims Turning Point reaches a potential 480 million radio listeners and 2.5 billion television households worldwide. Radio and television programs last 30 minutes each.

Jeremiah has authored several books on Christian theology, including one about Christian eschatology called "Agents of the Apocalypse," a work published in October 2014. The pastor explores the symbolism within the Book of Revelation to explain modern historical events by combining fictional storytelling and nonfiction biblical principles.

As of 2015, Jeremiah is senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California, near San Diego. The pastor earned a Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967 before founding his own church and broadcast ministry in 1969. Jeremiah began ministering to Shadow Mountain Community Church members in 1981.
